How the url encode decode calculator works

URLs can only carry a limited set of characters. Percent-encoding replaces every other character with % and its UTF-8 bytes in hex, so a space becomes %20 and é becomes %C3%A9.

Encode a component (the default) for a single query value or path segment: it also encodes reserved characters like &, = and /. Encode a full URL to keep those characters so the link still works.

Using and checking your result

Share links may contain your input values. Anyone with the URL can read them; avoid sharing sensitive personal or financial information.
