Concrete Calculator
Cubic yards and bags for slabs, footings and more
Add 5 to 10% for spillage and uneven ground.
Concrete needed
1.23 cubic yards
33.33 cubic feet, or 0.944 cubic meters
- Approximate weight2.5 US tons
- 5,000 lb
Or in premixed bags
- 80 lb bags0.6 cu ft each
- 56
- 60 lb bags0.45 cu ft each
- 75
- 40 lb bags0.3 cu ft each
- 112
- 25 kg bagsabout 0.0117 m³ each
- 81
Weight assumes normal concrete at 150 lb/ft³ (2,400 kg/m³). Bag yields are typical label values. Above about 1 cubic yard, ready-mix delivery is usually cheaper and easier than bags.
How it was calculated
- 10 ft × 10 ft × (4 in ÷ 12) × 1 = 33.33 ft³
- 33.33 ft³ ÷ 27 = 1.23 yd³

How the concrete calculator works
Concrete is ordered by volume. For a slab, footing or wall, multiply length × width × thickness. For a round column or hole, the area of the circle (π × diameter² ÷ 4) times its depth. A tube subtracts the hollow inner circle.
A curb and gutter is two blocks: the curb (curb depth × (curb height + flag thickness)) plus the gutter flag (gutter width × flag thickness), times the length. Stairs are treated as solid steps stacked from the ground, with the top step as the landing.
One cubic yard is 27 cubic feet or about 0.765 cubic meters. Bag counts use typical label yields: an 80 lb bag makes about 0.6 cubic feet, so a cubic yard takes about 45 of them.
