How the repayment calculator works
Repayments are monthly with interest at the annual rate / 12 on the remaining balance. For a set time the repayment is balance × r / (1 - (1 + r)^-n); for a set amount the calculator counts the months until the balance is gone.
An extra monthly amount goes straight to the balance, so the loan ends sooner than the time you set.
