How the big number calculator works
Ordinary calculators store about 15 significant digits, so large results get rounded. This calculator works on the digits themselves (arbitrary precision), so 50! or a 200-digit product comes out exact.
Addition, subtraction, multiplication, whole-number powers, factorials, mod, GCD and LCM are exact. Division and square roots can go on forever, so they are rounded to the number of decimal places you choose (up to 1,000).
GCD is the greatest common divisor, found with Euclid's algorithm. LCM is the least common multiple, |X × Y| ÷ GCD. X mod Y is the remainder after dividing X by Y, with the sign of X.
Using and checking your result
