World Handicap System: fewer than 20 scores use fewer differentials (3 scores: lowest 1 minus 2.0). Playing conditions (PCC), the 12-month low cap and exceptional-score reductions are not applied. Max index 54.0.

How it was calculated

  1. Score differential = (113 / slope) × (adjusted score - course rating)
  2. Round 1: (113 / 128) × (92 - 71.8) = 17.8
  3. Round 2: (113 / 125) × (88 - 70.4) = 15.9
  4. Round 3: (113 / 131) × (95 - 72.3) = 19.6

How the golf handicap calculator works

Each round becomes a score differential: (113 / slope rating) × (adjusted gross score - course rating). 113 is the slope of a course of average difficulty.

Your Handicap Index is the average of the lowest 8 of your most recent 20 differentials. With fewer rounds, the WHS uses fewer differentials, with a small adjustment for 3, 4 and 6 rounds.

Course handicap converts the index to strokes on a specific set of tees: index × slope / 113 + (course rating - par).
