How the cd calculator works
A CD pays a fixed rate for a fixed term. Interest compounds at the frequency the bank uses, so the balance at maturity is deposit × (1 + r/n)^(n × years). The APY is the yearly growth that includes compounding, which lets you compare CDs fairly.
