How the weight calculator works
Weight is the force of gravity on a mass: W = m × g. On Earth, standard gravity is 9.80665 m/s², so a 70 kg person weighs about 686 newtons (154 pounds-force).
A bathroom scale shows weight converted back to mass assuming Earth gravity, which is why you would 'weigh' about 16.5% as much on the Moon.
